先日コッツウォルズに行きました。

I visited some villages in Cotswolds.


はちみつ色と表現される村々。
ライムストーンという石を使って家を建てるので、こういう色なんだそう。

Small villages described as honey colour.
They build houses with Limestone, that is why these villages have this colour.

昼食は、ボートン・オン・ザ・ウォーターで。
この村は比較的観光に力を入れているみたいで、食事ができるところもお店も何軒かありました。

I had lunch at Bourton-on-the-Water.
This village puts effort into tourism and there are some places for eating and shopping.



最後はバイブリーという村。
ウィリアム・モリスはこの村に住みつき、「イングランドで一番美しい村」と評したそうです。

The last village I went is Bibury.
William Morris settled here once, and described this village as "the most beautiful village in England."




中でもArlington Rowという一画はとても古い家並み。
ナショナルトラストに管理されて、人が住んでいるんですよ！
ナショナルトラストとはイギリスの大きな環境保護団体です。

Especially, there are very old and beautiful houses in Arlington Row.
Managed by National Trust, some people live here!




やっぱり、イギリスの地方いいなー…

I find it very nice every time I go to countryside...
